Hadith: Prophet Muhammad (S) taught us to mention Allah’s name in our sentences.
Talking too much without remembering his name hardens the heart. (Tirmidhi)
Welcome to week four of Sunday School!
The following are some pertinent information for you:
It has been reported by a number of teachers of students arriving late to class. We understand there may be circumstances in which parents may be running late, but chronic tardiness will not be tolerated. It is highly disruptive to the teacher and class to have students arriving late and is also detrimental to the student’s education. Every minute is valuable for our students. It is imperative for parents to make every attempt to get students to school on time. Students are expected to arrive at 10 a.m. in the gym.
First-period classes start at 10:15 a.m.
Assembly is a short period of time for us to connect with our students and staff regarding school matters and prepare them for their day, and distractions from parents are hindering this. Parents of only kindergarten and first grade will be allowed for assembly so their students can get acclimated. All other parents will drop their students and leave.
The online MEC Sunday School bookstore is available for you to purchase your student’s book. The updated booklist is attached. Please use the following link:
Internal Qirat Competition
MEC Sunday School will hold its annual Internal-Qirat Competition on Dec. 3rd. Tajweed teachers are responsible for selecting the students to participate in the competition. They will be conducting their selection over the next few weeks. Please help your child prepare for this in-class selection process. If your child is selected to participate in the competition, you will be informed by email. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s Tajweed teacher, or Aziz Ali, Head of the Tajweed Department at firstname.lastname@example.org, or MEC Sunday School Principal at email@example.com.
Head of the Nazirah and Tajweed Department.
If your student is not registered, they will not be permitted to sit in class. Please confirm registration before dropping off your students, especially Kindergarten and First grade.
Please make sure your student is dressed in Islamically-appropriately clothing for the weather. All students must wear clean socks and closed-toed shoes.
Reusable Water Bottles
We will have limited water bottles to encourage our students to use reusable water bottles. So please send a reusable water bottle with your student.
Please contact Br. Abubakr Al-Aidroos, MEC Sunday School Registrar, for any questions or issues regarding registration. firstname.lastname@example.org.
